Nature of Whether
As the dew drips
from the wilted petals
I am reminded of a visited place.
A time perhaps
of happiness and joys,
the thrill of each day,
the traffic of elation
as ventures began
and giggles pursue.
I was a part of this place,
more than a visitor.
The matriarchal leader then,
the healer of wounds,
the cleanser of woes;
I have since witnessed
the drought of a heart
In a place I once knew.
Did I build the dam
And dried it all up
or is time the culprit
of lifely ruin.
The clouds overhead
predict the rain.
The sky has fallen dark
and dismal is near.
I will weather the storm;
and as it blows past,
I will get down to the business
of what will last.
